The Nebraska Sandhills

Sandhill Animals
From the dry, arid dunes to the thousands of wetlands and lakes, the Sandhills have a varied topography resulting in great plant diversity, and consequently great animal diversity as well. It is the central flyway for migrating birds, including a number of birds which are becoming increasingly rare. The Sandhills are also home to small mammals such as Kangaroo Rats and Porcupines as well as large mammals such as Pronghorn Antelope and even Bison.
